Born and raised in Canarsie Brooklyn, and moved to Long Island during my high school years. My passion was always the fine arts. I majored in Interior Design during my early college days but quickly turned my attention to Optics. I was Pre-Med at Hofstra University when I had an opportunity to try a new part time job at a local optical business. I found that I had a knack both for fitting frames and making people smile. I left Hofstra to pursue my degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing, and have not looked back.
As a student, I am proud to have earned the National Varilux Student Award Winner in 1995. I graduated Presidents List, and have been serving as President of the ASA advisory board for the Ophthalmic Dispensing Program (Formerly, TCI, Interboro Institute). I have been in the Optical field since 1993, I have been a Licensed Optician for 25 years now. I simply love what I do for you. I take pride in having the ability to both make glasses and fit them.
One of my better qualities has always been one of a problem solver when it comes to troubleshooting any issues that may arise. I was a fabricator of eyeglasses when it was a craft, and enjoy making eyewear and fitting them. I owned two businesses of my own for 10 years, and worked for Davis Vision for 8 years where I was General Manager, Retail Supervisor, and Licensed Optician.
I am beyond elated to have joined Dr. Galan and family at Diamond Vision. I joined in July of 2018, and hope to continue to serve the community and beyond. I look forward to creating a great rapport and bringing interesting and new products to Diamond Vision. Everyone deserves quality eye care and quality eye wear, I hope to continue this mission and goal with Dr. Galan.
