Scleral Lenses: Application, Removal & Care

Scleral lenses are large-diameter gas permeable lenses designed to vault over the cornea and rest on the sclera (the white part of your eye). These lenses are ideal for patients with:

  • Keratoconus
  • Severely dry or sensitive eyes
  • Irregular corneas or post-surgical conditions

Although they can take a little time to get used to, most of our patients find scleral lenses very comfortable once they master insertion and removal.
